Privacy Policy

Day 4 is built local-first and privacy-first. The app works fully as a guest with your data kept on your device. This policy explains what changes when you choose to create an account.

Our approach

By default, Day 4 stores your data on your device only. We do not require an account to use the app, and we do not build advertising profiles. An account is optional and lets your saved content follow you across devices.

What we store

As a guest: your preferences, saved days, notes, and sacred birthday are kept locally on your device and are not sent to us.

With an account: we store your email, a display name, your notification preferences, and any notes or saved days you choose to sync — so they are available on every device you sign into.

Your Prayer List always stays on your device and works offline. If you are signed in and turn on “Sync to account,” we store a private account copy of your prayer intentions, notes, rhythms, prayer and answered-day history, and scripture references so they can sync across your devices. Turning sync off deletes that account copy and keeps your local list. We do not send Prayer List content to analytics.

Subscriptions and the app stores

Purchases are processed directly by the App Store or Google Play. The app reads subscription status from the store on your device. Day 4 does not attach that status to your Day 4 account, and we never receive your payment-card details.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, we register a device token to deliver Sabbath, feast, seasonal, and devotional notifications. You can turn any of these off at any time in Notifications, and disabling them removes the associated schedule.

Scripture references

Day 4 shows scripture from translations that are free to use — either public domain or openly licensed — and you choose which one you read. Where a translation asks to be credited, that credit appears with the text. You can still tap a reference to open it in your own Bible app, and we still do not track what you read.

What we never do

We do not sell or rent your data. We do not show third-party advertising. We do not track you across other apps or websites.

Your choices

You can use the app entirely as a guest, export or delete your local data by removing the app, and — with an account — request deletion of your synced data, which removes it from our backend.

Children

Day 4 is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

When this policy changes we publish a new version with a new effective date and, where the change is material, prompt you in the app. The version and effective date are always shown at the foot of this screen.
